- CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
- High school class was 69. Parents' class was 18. Today's suburban class size is up to 1500. In his class, all the boys played all the sports. He showed livestock.
- FAMILY BACKGROUND
- Ancestors always farmers. In 1830s came through Virginia through KY. Other side from OH. Originated in Germany and France, from farms. Mahomet is on the Sangamon River. Most early settlements were on rivers.
- COLLEGE EDUCATION
- He really liked animals so he wanted to work with that. Traditional relationship with animals - always wanted to be a farmer. Wanted to go to university. Arrived at U. of Illinois in 1969. He has been there forty years. Example
