- Of the 44,000 acres, he worked about 400 acres taken over from a tenant. Paid $18,000 for the lease of the buildings. Redid the house. Describes outside upper entrance. Built a house he named Cockleburr. Did not buy machinery. Next interview is about his farming. His father went to the Royal Agricultural College in England for two years. Used Sir Albert Howard's book - grandfather of organic farming.
