- SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION
- FFA, Science Club, Speech, and many other academic clubs were formed after consolidation. The music program grew to include jazz band, marching band, musicals and plays. The new consolidated school had new colors, mascot, and name. Huey the Hawk is the official mascot. The original 21 member board was changed to a seven member board with three from Fairbury, and two each from Forrest and Chatsworth each. They now also have two board members from Shenoah, whom they annexed. The board was concerned with organization, the flow of students, and the teachers. They had to reorganize the teachers based on seniority and credentials. A new cafeteria had to be built in Chatsworth. Busing was a concern the first few days. As far as salaries, they didn't have to negotiate too much because the state was equalizing everything.
