- FAMILY BACKGROUND
- Was born March 17, 1921 on a farm south of Eldred. Has one older brother and four older sisters whom she gives a brief description of. Maternal grandfather immigrated from Westphalia, Prussia so he wouldn't be drafted or become a Catholic priest, and settled in Kampsville, IL in the 1850s-1860s and met his wife. Eileen's parents built a house from Sears and had the first Frigidaire refrigerator in the county.
