CHILDHOOD ACTIVITIES
Had some friends that she would play with in the area, such as Ben and Betty Lou. Would talk about getting together at church or school.
CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Attended a one room country schoolhouse and attended for all eight grades. Walked, rode horseback or carpooled sometimes to get to school. Liked playing ball in the schoolyard or go roller skating.
FARM ORGANIZATIONS
Did 4-H as a child. Had home-ec and showed cattle. Once got $46 for a cattle she showed during the Depression era. Talks about the county fair and going to St. Louis and East St. Louis for shows.
