Mrs. Williams tells what her grandmother did when she was ill. Her mother's cousin married a doctor & he came to care for her. Got ill after picking wild greens in spring. Pills put into spoonful of jelly. Grandmother gave her a physic (syrup of pepsin) every Saturday night. Refers to bedpan as a slop-jar. Turpentine used in home remedies. Her grandparents made a medicine that they sold. Gives recipe that included, linseed oil, coal oil, & tallow.
