TAXES
Talks about the property and income taxes and how it affects farmers. With budget cuts and changes in taxes, agriculture is going to be affected. Discusses the relationship between the Farm Bureau and the Department of Agriculture. They have a good, longstanding relationship.
FARM ORGANIZATIONS
Discuses the role Department of Agriculture and the Governor have in farming in Illinois. The Department of Agriculture is also in charge of the State and County Fairs. These fairs are the PR side of agriculture, they're the showcase of agriculture. Philip is a unique President because of his role in other organizations. There are 18 districts in the Illinois Farm Bureau. Talks about his family and the Illinois Farm Bureau.
WOMEN'S WORK
Philip's wife takes over the farm and runs it when he's away for the Farm Bureau. She's very instrumental in their business. He has a lot of responsibilities to the Bureau.
FARM BUSINESS
Talks about the changing commodity prices and locking in prices. There are many different ways to lock in prices. However, farmers are not price makers, that's decided in board rooms.
