- Philip Nelson was born in 1957 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and grew up as the fourth generation on the family grain and dairy farm in Seneca, Illinois. Philip has never wanted to do anything but farm and has managed a thriving dairy farm and later a hog farm, as well as becoming increasingly involved in many farm organizations which resulted in him being elected President of the Illinois Farm Bureau in 2003.
