- Outside influences have been making changes in livestock. An example is Prop. 2 in CA. Prop. 2 expanded the size of cages for egg-laying hens, got rid of gestating crates for sows, and eliminated veal production. This proposition will lead to importing livestock products from out of state and livestock raisers being forced out of business. There needs to be a balance between what consumers want and producers can produce.
