LIVESTOCK CARE
Long term goals of PETA is to get rid of animal agriculture. An example is Proposition 2 in California. There is the belief that what rules California will spread across America. Talks about the changes in facilities and care of animals is much better than what it used to be. People setting the rules have no contact with animals and know nothing about raising them. PETA's campaigns are working because they have an emotional appeal.
VALUES
Americans don't know where their food is coming from, but are demanding changes. The "Not in my back yard" movement is where people don't want ethanol plants or wind farms or other potentially helpful programs near them. The opposition and litigation against these things have helped to stop construction and defeat companies. A lot of problems stem from people who live in the city moving to the country. There used to be a Welcome Wagon when you moved into a community. Orion suggests Welcome Wagons be brought back to educate city neighbors living in farm communities.
