- FAMILY FARM
- Small town farmers cannot be successful in these markets anymore. Small farmers have to be in a niche, like organic farming. Family farms haven't died, but they have changed.
- FARMHOUSE
- Talks about the house where he was born and the barn they built.
- MARKETING
- Orion talks about the different markets they have to fulfill and the complications there are in marketing. Grain elevators have to fill the demand. This is possible because of better storage. Talks about price and demand for the corn and energy and problems with base prices. American farmers are super at producing, not at marketing. Farmers rarely sell on an up market. Have to know your cost of production to be able to make a profit. Discipline in the marketplace is critical to the success of farmers. Need to be a speculator, not a hedger.
