- FARM EQUIPMENT
- Describes a visit to Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska, where he saw early equipment and the latest tractor they had, made in 1900, which was just like one that he owned. Describes a 1900 eight-bottom plow that had a trip on it so that if you ran over a rock, the blade would trip instead of getting damaged. Noted that the new 1970s plows are re-introducing that feature, which had been lost over the years. Talks about the advantages of rubber tires over steel wheels. Experienced seeing a tractor with rubber tires clear a hill, while the steel-wheeled combine tore up the road and got stuck.
