REFLECTIONS
Clarence tells his attitude towards farming. He believes farming is the best, healthful life, but isn't profitable. Have to be very careful with chemicals and machinery these days though. Gives you a sense of accomplishment, fulfilling, but mixed bag. Notes that so many people are going out of business that it would be cheap to get into right now because of cheaper land & abundance of used machinery. Mrs. Neujahr disagrees. Mrs. Neujahr believes farming would not be profitable for a new family to get into, laments the loss of the family farm. Points out the family tradition and help involved in farming. Importance of education, role of computer, continuing farm education. Affirms that farming takes brains and skill. Clarence mentions the importance of military service. Service "made a man out of me."
