- Halloween parties to keep teens from vandalizing. She wore Irish relatives old dress as costume. Kids made birdhouses from scrap wood. Hayward read poetry at a black church in Springfield. Mr. Grady and Singleton sang at her father's 85th birthday. 50th anniversary of Woman's Club; had non-edible cake with 50 candles. Matron for Divernon and Auburn chapters of Eastern Star.
- LOSS OF FARM
- Sear's would not hire her after she had to give up farm. She was over 40 and their insurance was too high. So made a job in catering parties from her house.
