- ETHANOL
- Talks about the production of ethanol in America and competing with other countries. South America is not producing enough ethanol to have an impact on American ethanol. Thinks the goals set for ethanol by the Bush administration can be met. Talks about the impact of free trade and tariffs. He addresses the issues that have or need to change to help ethanol production including increasing corn production and yield, technology, genetics. We need to increase usage of corn as we become more efficient producers.
- REFLECTIONS
- The biggest change he's seen is in efficiency. Thanks to technology and hybrid seeds and raising livestock more efficiently. The other big change is the machinery that is used. The other change is the risk and management of your farm and operation and land. Future farming in Illinois offers you more opportunities than you ever had. Farming has changed and is going to continue to change.
