ACTIVITIES
Talks about leisure activities. Would go see movies and go to basketball games. The community churches organized things as well as there were free movies in the square on Saturday nights. You made your own entertainment. 4-H and FFA were both important and Orion was very active in both. Credits them with who he is today. He talks about how he got into broadcasting, when he was young he won a talent contest. Even today he still does live appearances, he loves them. Describes the differences between 4-H and FFA. 4-H is more for the young, social and cultural. FFA was more educational. Talks about the Cooperative Extension service. It has been around since Abraham Lincoln signed the land grant act. It brings education to the people. Provides services such as nutrition health, financial help, elderly care and child care help
