- Old Settler Days at Hillsboro. Farm Bureau also had picnics & get-togethers at Hillsboro where they had many good speakers. Speakers knowledgeable about farming & farmers learned a lot. Describes exhibits at Old Settler Days. Farm Bureau got livestock shows organized for boys & 4-H. These small shows gave boys confidence to show in Springfield. A lot of boys did not like farming. Compares town life to farm life. Bert was made to be a farmer.
